Welcome to the official web site for the iCAN Swiss Qualifying Competition!

Here you’ll find all the information you need to enter and compete in this unique contest of innovative micro-nano creation!

What is iCAN ?

iCAN is a global contest for students interested in advanced engineering applications for improving our society (monitoring of health and environment, efficient energy harvesting, autonomous systems, software control, etc.). Key disciplines involve Microengineering, Nanotechnology, Robotics, Biomedical Engineering, etc). The spirit of iCAN is that students design, assemble and demonstrate a working system by using commercial electronic, optical, mechatronic components, provided by university laboratory, often sponsored by companies.

iCAN is the first large-scale high-tech innovation contest initiated by scientists from both academy and industry in micro/nano fields.

Each year, the iCAN contest has 2 stages:

Stage 1: a national contest (in Switzerland will be held in May 2018, exact date will be communicated in February).

Stage 2: the international contest. iCAN’18 will be held from  June 24 – 26, 2018 in Hong Kong.

* The winning team from the Swiss Qualifying Competition will receive the right to represent Switzerland at the international iCAN’18 finals – including transportation and hotel expenses.
