Both Swiss entries put in a strong showing at the iCAN'11 Finals, which were held from June 4-7 at the China Science and Technology Museum in Beijing.
Yujia Zhai, David Bonzon and Christian Adamczyk (EPFL) won third place in the contest and $1,000 with their project, entitled "Sensing the world through iPhone/Smartphone".
A second team selected to represent Switzerland in Beijing, made up of students Matthieu Rüegg, Ludovic Serex and Nicolas Vachicouras and supervised by Professor Kamiar Aminian, received a Best Contribution Award (consolation prize).
27 teams participated in the final selection which was open to teams from outside China for the first time.
